Inspired by the Anatolian and Mesopotamian heritage from thousands of years ago, the team at Barrus have delved deep into historic archives to create a truly unique offering. Anatolia bringing this heritage to life in their Autumn/Winter 16 collection.
Neslisah and Nur have fused shades of midtown burgundy, oxblood and black using silk, french lace, beaded lace and cashmere blends for their Autumn/Winter 2016 collection at London Fashion Week. Their contemporary ideas are synthesized with traditional Turkish elements such as Turkish Marbling which is a method of aqueous surface design, which can produce patterns similar to smooth marble or other stone. The patterns are the result of color floated on either plain water or a viscous solution known as size, and then carefully transferred to an absorbent surface, such as paper or fabric.
All of Barrus’s eye catching garments are made by fine tailoring, using delicate fabrics from Turkey, Europe and India. With this in mind their collection has been targeted to ladies who are confident, sexy and independent from around the world. She can carry of almost any kind of look, taking her day look, through to night time.
“My home town is Bursa which is the ancient centre for many civilizations as well handicrafts, marbling is one of many jewels that has contributed and will contribute to the journey of multicultural inspiration ” – Neslisah Yilmaz – Head Designer – Barrus Fashion
